Appearing on NBC's "Meet the Press," Schumer said the spill “changes the politics” of the legislation, adding that “it’s going to be harder to get one done given that drilling off coast was a part of the compromise.” Administration official Carol Browner recently told Bloomberg that “this accident, this tragedy, is actually heightening people's interest in energy in this country and in wanting a different energy plan.”
